Not Sure What’s Happening With Your Hair?
Increased shedding, a widening part, a changing hairline or gradually finer hair can be difficult to understand on your own. Start with a complimentary nurse-led Hair & Scalp Consultation at My BioHealth in Campbellfield.
We’ll discuss what you have noticed, review relevant health and hair history, examine the visible scalp and thinning pattern, and explain whether PRP, PRF, Red Light Therapy, further medical assessment or a combined approach may be appropriate.

Book Your Consultation →Consultation and Treatment in One Visit
Your appointment begins with a nurse-led consultation and clinical assessment. Where you are clinically suitable and choose to proceed, your PRP or PRF treatment may be performed during the same appointment. We reserve sufficient time for both the consultation and treatment, so you do not necessarily need to return on another day.
There is no obligation to proceed. If you choose treatment, the $50 booking deposit is credited toward the treatment cost. If you attend and decide not to proceed, the deposit is refunded.
What the consultation covers
- Discussing your hair or scalp concerns
- Reviewing relevant medical and hair history
- Examining the visible scalp and thinning pattern
- Discussing your goals and realistic expectations
- Explaining the differences between PRP and PRF
- Discussing Standard and Enhanced treatment options
- Considering Red Light Therapy as a supportive modality
- Recommending further medical assessment where appropriate
- Proceeding with treatment on the same day where clinically suitable
A scalp examination describes what is visible. It does not identify the underlying cause of hair loss, and some patterns require medical investigation. Individual responses vary and no outcome is guaranteed.
PRP or PRF for hair?
Both are prepared from a small sample of your own blood. They are processed differently and have different characteristics, so neither is automatically the better choice.
Which one suits you depends on your presentation, your goals, your history and the treatment plan discussed at consultation. A higher-priced option is not automatically the right option for every client, and we will say so if the simpler option is the more sensible one for you.
Standard and Enhanced options
Hair treatments are offered as Standard and Enhanced options, set out in the Pricing section below. Your consultation confirms the recommended option, the number of tubes or treatment volume, the treatment area, a suggested course and the exact cost before anything proceeds.
Red Light Therapy as a supportive option
Red Light Therapy may be discussed as one part of a broader scalp plan alongside PRP or PRF, rather than as a treatment on its own. Whether it is appropriate for you is decided at consultation, and it is not a substitute for medical assessment where that is needed.

What Are PRP & PRF?
Both start the same way: a small blood sample is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to concentrate its platelets and growth factors, then reintroduced to the treatment area.
PRP
Faster processing, quicker release of growth factors. Commonly recommended for hair restoration and general skin texture support.
PRF
Spun at a lower speed, preserving more white blood cells and fibrin, a gentler, more gradual release, often preferred for delicate areas like under the eyes.
Treatment Areas
Five areas, each with its own personalised approach. Your practitioner will recommend which suits your goals.

Hair Restoration
Supports thinning areas and follicle health over a course of sessions. Commonly chosen for post-transplant graft support, pattern hair loss and postpartum shedding.
Facial Rejuvenation
Supports overall skin texture, tone and collagen production. Often paired with medical microneedling.
Under Eye Rejuvenation
PRF's gentler, more gradual release is often recommended for this thin, delicate area.
Jawline & Neck Rejuvenation
Supports skin quality and collagen production across the jawline and neck.
Cheek & Mid-Face Rejuvenation
Supports volume-adjacent skin quality and collagen support through the cheek and mid-face.

Common questions
Both start from a blood sample spun in a centrifuge. PRF spins at a lower speed, preserving more white blood cells and fibrin, creating a gel-like matrix that releases growth factors more gradually than PRP. We'll help you decide which suits your goals, or whether a combination makes sense.
Suitability is confirmed at your consultation and clinical assessment. Certain blood disorders, some medications and specific skin or scalp conditions can affect candidacy, which is exactly why we assess before recommending treatment.
Numbing is used beforehand to manage comfort. Most clients describe mild discomfort rather than significant pain, particularly for scalp treatments.
Yes. The consultation is complimentary. A $50 refundable booking deposit is required to secure the appointment.
The deposit reserves the consultation and treatment time allocated to the appointment. It is credited toward treatment if you proceed, or refunded after the attended consultation if you decide not to proceed.
Yes. We reserve sufficient time for the consultation and potential treatment. Where you are clinically suitable and choose to proceed, treatment may be performed during the same appointment.
No. The consultation is designed to explain suitability, options and next steps. There is no obligation to proceed.
No. Suitability and individual responses vary. Outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
Some patterns of shedding or scalp concerns may require medical investigation. Where appropriate, you may be advised to speak with your GP or dermatologist before proceeding.
Because the preparation uses your own blood, some reaction concerns associated with donor or synthetic materials do not apply. That does not remove the risks of the treatment itself. Some redness, swelling or tenderness at the treatment site is normal for a few days afterwards.
Most clients begin with a short course before moving to periodic maintenance, typically every 4 to 6 weeks. Your nurse will recommend a plan specific to your goals at your first visit.
Yes, PRP and PRF are commonly used to support hormonal shedding after pregnancy, often alongside our Women's Wellness Program.
Timing depends on your specific procedure and surgeon's guidance. Your practitioner will talk through the right timing with you at your consultation, since supporting graft survival safely comes first.
PRF's gel-like matrix releases growth factors more gradually than PRP, which suits delicate areas like under the eyes where a slower, gentler release is often preferred.
Mild redness or swelling at the injection sites is common for a day or two. Most clients return to normal activity quickly, your practitioner will confirm what to expect for your specific treatment area.
Yes, this is a common combination for skin goals. Ask our team about pairing them, your practitioner can advise on the right sequencing for your specific concerns.
Certain blood disorders, some medications, and specific scalp or skin conditions can affect suitability. This is exactly why we start with a real consultation rather than treating on the spot.
Growth factors work gradually, most clients are advised to expect visible changes to build over a course of sessions rather than after a single visit.
Yes, we're a short drive from all three, plus Coolaroo and Roxburgh Park. Since a course of sessions works best with consistency, many local clients find the regular trip straightforward rather than a barrier.
A meta-analysis pooling 472 patients across 14 studies found microneedling combined with PRP nearly tripled the odds of significant scar improvement compared to microneedling alone, with over 4x higher patient satisfaction.
What people commonly explore it for
- A nurse-led consultation before any decision is made
- Treatment on the same day where it is clinically appropriate
- A clear explanation of what PRP and PRF are, and what they are not
These are reasons people book. Suitability is confirmed at consultation and outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
Preparing for your session
- Eat a proper meal and hydrate well before your appointment. A blood sample is taken.
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours beforehand.
- Where your doctor agrees it is safe, avoid anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen and aspirin for several days before.
- Arrive with clean skin or scalp. No makeup or product on the treatment area.
- Tell your practitioner about all medications, particularly blood thinners.
Good to know
- Results vary from person to person, and are not guaranteed.
- Expect redness, mild swelling or tenderness at the site for a few days.
- Most clients start with a course of sessions before moving to periodic maintenance.
- Because it uses your own blood, the risk of an allergic reaction is minimal.
Why My BioHealth
Every first PRP or PRF client begins with a nurse-led consultation. Where it is clinically appropriate and enough time has been allocated, treatment can follow in the same visit.
Safety and precautions
This service may not be suitable if:
- You have a blood or platelet disorder, or a clotting disorder.
- You take anticoagulant (blood thinning) medication.
- You have an active infection, or a skin infection at the treatment site.
- You have a current cancer diagnosis, particularly a blood cancer.
- You have severe anaemia.
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You have had a corticosteroid injection in the area recently.
PRP and PRF suit clients exploring hair restoration for thinning or pattern hair loss, those in postpartum hair shedding, and clients wanting to support skin texture and collagen, particularly around the eyes. Because it uses your own blood, it also suits clients who prefer a more natural approach to regeneration. Your practitioner will discuss whether PRP, PRF or a combination suits your specific goals.
