Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy After a Hair Transplant
After a hair transplant, your surgeon’s instructions and aftercare come first. At My BioHealth, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) at 1.3 ATA is offered as supportive wellness care alongside that aftercare, not instead of it.
How recovery after a hair transplant generally works
In a hair transplant, hair follicles (grafts) are moved from one area of the scalp to another, using techniques such as follicular unit extraction (FUE) or follicular unit transplantation (FUT). Once placed, grafts need to establish a blood supply in their new location.
In the first days afterwards, people commonly notice some swelling and redness, small scabs around the grafts, and gradual healing of the small incisions. Your surgeon will give you aftercare instructions for your procedure, and those instructions take priority over general information, including this article.
HBOT at 1.3 ATA after a procedure
At 1.3 ATA, the controlled increase in pressure, together with oxygen delivered during the session, increases oxygen availability in the body. This may support the body’s natural recovery processes following procedures such as hair restoration. It is offered as supportive wellness care alongside—not instead of—your surgeon’s aftercare. Individual responses vary.
My BioHealth provides Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at 1.3 ATA for wellness and recovery. It is not a substitute for hospital-based hyperbaric care. It is not a treatment for surgical complications. Published research on HBOT at 1.3 ATA after hair transplant surgery is limited.
Hair transplants and post-transplant PRP at My BioHealth
My BioHealth does not perform hair transplants. We work with overseas hair-transplant surgeons to provide post-transplant PRP where the surgeon recommends it. Your surgeon’s instructions and aftercare take priority.
PRP begins with a complimentary nurse-led consultation, and suitability is assessed before treatment. Individual responses vary.

Before booking a session after a procedure
- Speak with your surgeon first. When you return to any activity after surgery, including time in a pressurised chamber, is their call.
- Medical clearance may be required before a session.
- Tell us about any recent surgery, open wounds and medications. Your first-visit health screening is completed on arrival, before your session begins, and if a session is not appropriate we will tell you.
- Recent ear or sinus surgery, or being unable to equalise your ears, may mean the chamber is not suitable.
