Your nurse assesses the area individually. Pigmentation, hollowing, puffiness and skin texture can have different causes, so the conversation starts with what is contributing to your concern.

We’ll explain whether a platelet-based treatment is suitable, its limitations and the care involved.

Explore your skin consultation options

Your treatment begins with a blood sample. A centrifuge spins the sample to separate selected components, allowing your practitioner to prepare the material for your agreed treatment.

My BioHealth uses the Arthrex Horizon centrifuge with genuine Arthrex ACP and ACP MAX consumables. Your sample is processed in clinic and remains yours throughout.

The equipment, collection volume and processing method affect the preparation produced. These are the differences we explain when comparing our standard and premium appointments.

Plasma

The liquid part of your blood. It carries proteins and other substances throughout your body.

Platelets

Small blood components involved in clotting and repair. When activated, they release growth factors and other signalling molecules.

Growth factors

Proteins that send signals to cells. Researchers study their involvement in processes such as tissue repair and collagen production.

Platelet-derived exosomes

Tiny particles associated with communication between cells. They carry biological messages that can influence how receiving cells respond.

Our standard PRP and PRF appointments and our premium Arthrex appointments use different preparation pathways. “Premium” describes our service tier; the choice still depends on your concerns and suitability.

Arthrex ACP and ACP MAX are the preparation systems used within our Advanced Treatment Protocol. They process your own blood in closed systems to separate selected components for treatment.

Arthrex ACP

ACP uses a closed double-syringe preparation system to separate selected components from your own blood.

Arthrex ACP MAX

ACP MAX uses two processing stages to prepare concentrated platelet-rich plasma containing platelet-derived exosomes.

It is a different preparation pathway within our premium service tier. Your nurse explains the proposed method and cost in relation to your skin or hair goals.

A higher concentration does not automatically mean a better result for every person.

Understand PRP, PRF and the Arthrex preparation options

Think of exosomes as little packages carrying messages between cells. Their contents can influence how receiving cells respond.

Researchers are exploring these signals in skin repair and hair-follicle activity.

Arthrex describes ACP MAX plasma as containing platelet-derived exosomes. These are part of your own blood-derived preparation, alongside platelets and other signalling components—not a separately isolated exosome product.

Research into skin and hair applications continues to develop, and individual results vary.

1. Discuss your concerns

   Tell us what has changed in your skin, under-eyes or hair and what you hope to improve. We’ll also discuss your health history and previous treatments.

2. Compare the options

   Understand the differences between standard and premium preparations, including suitability, evidence, risks, appointment requirements and costs.

3. Agree on a realistic plan

   If treatment is appropriate and you choose to proceed, we’ll explain the proposed approach, preparation, aftercare and review points.

There is no obligation to proceed.

Your consultation is 15 minutes and complimentary, with a $50 booking deposit. It is refunded at the appointment to the same card used for booking, or credited toward treatment that day if you proceed. At least 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellation or a no-show forfeits the deposit, which is not refundable or redeemable. Same-day treatment depends on suitability and availability.

Appointments are recommended 4–6 weeks apart, with the plan tailored to your goals. There is no PRP/PRF package discount. Prepaid courses of three or more ACP or ACP MAX sessions save 10%, including microneedling if selected, and expire 4 months from purchase.

Before treatment, tell your nurse about medicines, health conditions and previous procedures. Follow the preparation instructions provided for your agreed treatment.

Some conditions or medicines can make platelet treatment inappropriate, and medical clearance may be required.

Using your own blood does not remove treatment risks. Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising can occur. Your nurse will explain the relevant risks, expected downtime and aftercare for the area being treated.

Under-eye treatment requires particular care and individual assessment.
